Elf Owl facts:
• They are the smallest owls in North America, about 7” - the size of and American robin.
• Found in the southwest, they are migratory, spending their summers back in Mexico.
• Urban encroachment, wildfires and more shrink their habitats. Although small and cute, they are fierce hunters. Insects, small rodents make up their diet.
